Qualcomm India Private Limited is hiring a DDR tools and System development engineer for its Engineering Group, Software Engineering organization in Hyderabad. The role focuses on system-level stress test development, DDR characterization tools, and low-level embedded system development.

The engineer will work across multiple programs and collaborate with teams involved in performance, power, peripherals, multimedia, design verification, and other system areas. The position provides exposure to system-on-chip architecture and low-level subsystem internals.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive multiple programs related to Quest, including system-level stress test development in UEFI.
• Develop and enhance DDR characterization tools and system-level test cases.
• Develop UEFI and HLOS Quest framework components and system-level tests.
• Work on tests covering DDR technologies such as LP4x and LP5x.
• Develop and work with system-level tests involving PCIe, UFS, USB, SD card, GPU, Camera, Video, and Q6 areas.
• Analyze large amounts of test data and identify meaningful patterns.
• Investigate issues and collaborate with teams working on performance, power, peripherals, multimedia, design, and design verification.
• Contribute to test case development and enhancements.
• Perform low-level embedded system development, debugging, and related engineering activities.

Required Skills

• Strong programming skills in C.
• Working knowledge of Python programming.
• Experience with embedded systems and low-level development.
• Knowledge of JTAG, processor architecture, CPU architecture, and system-on-chip concepts.
• Understanding of RTOS operating systems and core BSP driver-level development and debugging.
• Strong understanding of operating system fundamentals, data structures, computer architecture, and embedded systems.
• Familiarity with debuggers such as T32 and gdb.
• Good experience with Linux or UEFI-level development.

Preferred Technical Knowledge

• Understanding of the Q6 and APSS subsystems.
• Knowledge of L1, L2, and L3 cache concepts.
• Familiarity with ARM V8/9 architecture.
• Interest or experience in understanding overall SoC architecture and low-level subsystem internals.
• Experience analyzing system and test data to recognize patterns.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is required.

Technologies and Technical Areas

• C – expertise in C programming for low-level and embedded development.
• Python – working knowledge for development and system-level test activities.
• Linux – experience at the operating-system or low-level development level.
• UEFI – development and system-level stress testing through the Quest framework.
• RTOS – operating-system knowledge relevant to embedded systems.
• JTAG – familiarity with low-level hardware debugging.
• GDB and T32 – debugger familiarity for development and troubleshooting.
• ARM V8/9 – processor architecture knowledge is desirable.

Work Mode & Location

This position is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The JD does not specify a remote or hybrid arrangement, so the configured work mode is onsite.
