Job Overview

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Product Specialist to join its engineering team in Bengaluru or Pune, India. This full-time, hybrid role supports the development and maintenance of industrial automation configuration and selection tools.

The specialist will work across product and engineering functions to translate requirements into clear rules and specifications, check tool functionality, and help improve product accuracy and user experience. The role reports to a Team Lead and follows a 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide product and technical expertise for the development and ongoing maintenance of industrial automation configuration and selection tools.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Commercial Engineering, UX, Development, and QA teams to define, document, and validate product requirements.
• Review product, system, and business rules and help ensure that functional and technical specifications are accurate and complete.
• Support discovery and requirement-gathering activities, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation work.
• Help improve the accuracy and usability of the tools and the experience they provide to customers.
• Maintain product data, configuration rules, and supporting documentation so development teams can implement requirements consistently.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve tool functionality and user experience.
• Monitor market and competitor tools and share practical observations and recommendations with product stakeholders.

Collaboration and Work Approach

This position involves close coordination with teams responsible for product management, engineering, commercial engineering, user experience, development, and quality assurance. The specialist will help connect product needs with implementation details by documenting requirements, clarifying business rules, and validating whether the tools behave as expected.

Clear communication and careful analysis are important to this work. Maintaining accurate product information and spotting inconsistencies can help development teams build and update the configuration tools in line with defined requirements.
