Job Overview Cognizant is seeking an experienced Android App Tester (Automation) using Python to join its Technology and Engineering team. This hybrid role is based at a customer office in Bangalore and is suitable for professionals with at least six years of experience in mobile test automation. You will build robust automation frameworks, improve software quality, and support enterprise Android applications throughout the testing lifecycle. The role focuses on developing scalable automation solutions using Python, PyTest, and Appium 2.x while collaborating with developers, business stakeholders, and DevOps teams. You will contribute to functional, regression, smoke, user acceptance, and performance testing, ensuring high-quality Android applications before production deployment. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain Android automation frameworks using Python, PyTest, and Appium. - Create and execute functional, regression, smoke, UAT, and performance test suites. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and support UAT. - Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects. - Configure Android testing environments using real devices, emulators, and simulators. - Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines. - Improve automation coverage, stability, and execution efficiency. - Work closely with developers to resolve issues and improve application quality. - Maintain testing documentation and automation standards. - Support continuous quality improvement initiatives. Required Skills Strong experience with Python, PyTest, Appium 2.x, Android UI automation, automation framework development, mobile application testing, defect management, CI/CD integration, and test lifecycle management. Preferred Skills Performance testing automation, UAT coordination, Android device configuration, emulator management, continuous testing, and Agile software delivery. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience Minimum 6 years of experience in Android automation testing using Python.
