Job Overview

WalkingTree is hiring a Junior DevOps Engineer for a full-time opportunity in Hyderabad. The role is focused on hands-on DevOps engineering across CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, automation, Linux, build tools, and monitoring.

The opportunity is suitable for candidates with 0–1 years of experience or strong project experience. Candidates are expected to have practical exposure to real-world or self-driven DevOps projects and be able to demonstrate an end-to-end CI/CD workflow.

Mandatory Hands-on Requirements

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Work with GitHub, including branching and pull requests.
• Create Docker images and manage containers.
• Deploy applications on Kubernetes environments such as Minikube, on-premises Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, or Azure AKS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS EC2.
• Basic deployment experience using AWS EKS or Azure AKS.
• Use Python scripting for automation.
• Have strong hands-on experience with Linux.
• Use Maven or Gradle as build tools.
• Have basic monitoring and logging setup experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application delivery.
• Manage GitHub repositories and related development workflows.
• Deploy applications on Kubernetes platforms including EKS and AKS.
• Work with AWS and Azure cloud environments.
• Automate operational tasks using Python and shell scripting.
• Monitor systems and troubleshoot technical issues.

Technical Skills

• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Containers: Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud: AWS services including EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch; Azure services including AKS and VMs.
• Programming: Python and shell scripting.
• Build Tools: Maven and Gradle.
• Operating Systems: Linux is mandatory, with basic Windows knowledge.

Monitoring

The role includes basic monitoring and logging work using technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor.

Good to Have

• Basic understanding of Machine Learning.
• Basic knowledge of Terraform.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals.

Project Requirements

Candidates should have experience with or be able to demonstrate an end-to-end DevOps project covering the flow from GitHub to Jenkins, then Docker and Kubernetes. Relevant project work also includes EC2 deployment, monitoring dashboards, and Python automation scripts.
