Role Overview

Job Overview Red Hat is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the CoreOS engineering team in Bangalore. This hybrid full-time role focuses on building and improving CoreOS automation pipelines, Image Mode (bootc), container image delivery, and CI/CD workflows. You will contribute as a senior individual contributor, designing high-quality software solutions while collaborating with distributed engineering teams and the open-source community. The position offers the opportunity to work on Linux platforms, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes ecosystems, and modern software delivery pipelines. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain CoreOS pipeline components and Image Mode solutions. - Build, optimize, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Tekton, GitHub Actions, and container image automation. - Improve engineering productivity by implementing AI-powered automation workflows and agent-based solutions. - Write maintainable, scalable, and well-tested code while ensuring software quality. - Develop automated testing strategies and resolve defects efficiently. - Participate in architecture discussions, peer code reviews, and software lifecycle improvements. - Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and upstream open-source communities including Fedora, Fedora CoreOS, OKD, and Kubernetes. - Contribute documentation and continuously improve engineering workflows. Required Skills Strong Linux engineering, software development, CI/CD automation, container technologies, Kubernetes, Git, cloud platforms, debugging, software architecture, and pipeline optimization. Preferred Skills Experience with bootc, Image Mode Linux, AI-powered development workflows, GitHub Actions, Tekton, open-source collaboration, and cloud-native development. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred. Experience Professional experience developing enterprise software, automation pipelines, Linux-based systems, and cloud-native solutions.
