Job Overview Red Hat is hiring a Principal Information Systems Engineer to join its DNS and Operating Systems team in Pune. The role combines technical leadership, architecture, operational excellence, mentoring, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities - Lead the design, implementation, modernization, and lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure services. - Define technical direction for DNS, Linux platforms, automation frameworks, and access services. - Drive infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and architectural improvements with minimal operational risk. - Build reliable, scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise infrastructure. - Establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs), improve platform reliability, and eliminate recurring operational issues. - Participate in global on-call support and incident response while driving permanent resolutions through post-incident analysis. - Create architecture documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards. - Mentor senior engineers through design reviews, architecture discussions, technical coaching, and knowledge sharing. - Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, and operations teams to deliver business-critical services. - Promote automation, infrastructure as code, continuous delivery, and operational best practices. Required Skills Candidates should possess deep expertise in enterprise Linux administration, infrastructure automation, large-scale systems engineering, architecture planning, infrastructure governance, CI/CD practices, GitOps methodologies, enterprise networking fundamentals, and service reliability engineering. Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting capability, documentation skills, and technical leadership are essential. Preferred Skills Experience working with global enterprise infrastructure environments, cross-functional technical leadership, large-scale automation programs, production incident management, infrastructure modernization, operational strategy, and continuous service improvement will be valuable. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
