Key Responsibilities

  • Work with wireless operators to investigate and characterize 5G, 5G-Advanced, and LTE network performance.
  • Analyze issues across core networks, air interfaces, devices, and applications and recommend technical improvements.
  • Support advanced wireless initiatives involving O-RAN, vRAN, private networks, fixed wireless access, and small-cell deployments.
  • Perform RF and over-the-air optimization using network measurements, logs, and post-processing tools.
  • Support RF network planning activities such as propagation model calibration, link-budget analysis, coverage planning, capacity planning, and network growth estimation.
  • Use handset and network infrastructure measurement tools to assess existing and potential network performance.
  • Work with C, C++, and MATLAB-based simulation environments using live network traffic information.
  • Develop technical approaches that improve wireless network performance, capacity, and efficiency.
  • Support solutions for network operator expansion and growth across different network entities.
  • Participate in interoperability testing, field trials, demonstrations, and performance studies for new wireless capabilities.
  • Prepare white papers, technical memos, conference materials, training documents, and technical presentations.
  • Explain complex wireless engineering results to technical, business, customer, and multidisciplinary audiences.
  • Apply data analytics and machine learning to communication-service use cases involving 4G, 5G, and Wi-Fi.
  • Build data preparation and model-development workflows, including objective definition, data-quality checks, cleaning, training, evaluation, and error analysis.
  • Contribute to cloud-based machine learning model architecture and production-oriented AI workflows.


Required Skills

Candidates should have strong knowledge of cellular wireless systems, particularly 5G NR, 5G-Advanced, and LTE. Understanding of PHY and MAC layers as well as upper-layer cellular protocols is important for diagnosing and optimizing end-to-end network behavior.
