Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end validation activities for cloud platform services, covering reliability, scalability, upgradeability, customer experience, and production readiness.
- Define and improve quality strategies for complex distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Develop validation approaches and test coverage strategies that help identify product risks before release.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions and use quality insights to influence technical decisions.
- Establish quality standards, release governance practices, and production readiness criteria.
- Lead release readiness reviews and help determine whether platform capabilities are prepared for production.
- Use customer feedback, telemetry, service data, and live-site learnings to identify opportunities for quality improvements.
- Participate in service operations and on-call responsibilities as a Designated Responsible Individual when required.
- Monitor services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and support appropriate recovery actions for straightforward incidents.
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to address quality risks across the software development lifecycle.
- Mentor engineers and encourage strong quality engineering practices across teams.
- Improve validation efficiency and test coverage through automation and well-designed test infrastructure.
Required Skills
Candidates should have experience in software engineering and quality engineering for complex technical systems. The role requires a strong understanding of validation strategy, test architecture, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and production readiness.
Experience with one or more programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python is required. Candidates should also understand software development fundamentals and be comfortable working with engineering teams on testing, quality, troubleshooting, and release activities.
A strong quality mindset is important. The engineer should be able to identify risks early, evaluate system behavior, understand customer impact, and translate findings into practical engineering improvements.
Preferred Skills

Knowledge of Kubernetes storage ecosystems, CSI architecture, stateful workloads, persistent storage, and storage lifecycle operations is preferred. Relevant storage lifecycle areas include provisioning, expansion, snapshots, cloning, backup and restore, upgrades, and operational workflows.
Experience with release governance, quality metrics, test coverage, production readiness reviews, incident management, telemetry-driven improvements, and customer issue analysis is also beneficial.
Candidates may also have experience with storage fundamentals such as availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, scalability, capacity management, performance, and operational excellence. Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools for improving test effectiveness or engineering productivity is an additional advantage.
Education
The required qualification is a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. A Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred.
Experience
The minimum required experience is 4 years of technical engineering experience when combined with the required Bachelor's Degree. Preferred qualifications include 6 or more years with a Master's Degree, or 8 or more years with a Bachelor's Degree. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
Candidates should ideally have experience in quality engineering, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, Kubernetes, automation, validation, or large-scale platform engineering.
