Job Overview

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is hiring a Software Engineer Staff for its Engineering and QA organization in Bengaluru. This hybrid opportunity is designed for experienced software and networking professionals with deep expertise in network operating systems, test automation, and enterprise switching technologies. The role focuses on validating SONiC functionality, automating testing, debugging networking software, and improving the quality of enterprise networking platforms. You will collaborate with engineering teams and the open-source community to build reliable, scalable, and high-performance networking solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for SONiC networking platforms.
  • Validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking features.
  • Develop automated functional, regression, performance, and scale test cases using Python and Robot Framework.
  • Verify SAI integration and switching platform functionality.
  • Troubleshoot issues across ASIC, network operating systems, and control and data planes.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and the SONiC open-source community.
  • Validate optical modules, transceiver management, and networking protocols.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvements.


Required Skills

Strong expertise in network software testing, switching technologies, routing protocols, automation, debugging, Linux-based networking environments, and software quality engineering.


Preferred Skills

Experience with SONiC open-source development, SDKLT, OpenNSL, Spirent, IxNetwork, telemetry, OpenConfig, gNMI, YANG, Netconf, REST APIs, DevOps, and distributed systems.


Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.


Experience

Candidates should have approximately 10 years of experience in network software or hardware testing.
