Citi is hiring a Senior Java Developer at the Assistant Vice President level in Pune for its Treasury and FP&A Technology organization. The role focuses on the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale applications supporting the Loan Portfolio Mitigation Application, also referred to as IRIS. This is a senior software engineering opportunity for professionals who can work across Java microservices, application architecture, database development, testing, integration, and delivery.

The successful candidate will contribute hands-on technical expertise while also guiding a small team of Java developers. The position requires strong experience with modern Java, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, OpenShift, relational databases, REST APIs, CI/CD practices, testing frameworks, and Agile delivery. Exposure to Generative AI development tools and enterprise technology platforms is also relevant to the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop application components that are scalable, reusable, maintainable, and suitable for enterprise environments.
• Take ownership of development activities within the Java microservices ecosystem.
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of capabilities for the Loan Portfolio Mitigation Application.
• Work with business analysts, business users, development teams, and quality assurance professionals to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Java developers and help remove development, architecture, and process-related obstacles.
• Monitor business, technical, and infrastructure considerations and contribute practical solutions to complex challenges.
• Participate in solution design, coding, testing, implementation, and ongoing development activities.
• Communicate sprint progress, delivery status, and technical updates to senior technology leaders and other stakeholders.
• Promote sound development practices and help team members follow agreed engineering standards.

Required Skills

The role requires strong hands-on expertise in enterprise Java development, particularly Java 17 or later, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, microservices, and the OpenShift ecosystem.
