Cisco Hiring Frontend Engineer - React JS in Bangalore | Onsite
Role Overview
Job Overview
Cisco is hiring a Frontend Engineer in Bangalore for an onsite software engineering opportunity focused on React, TypeScript, JavaScript, AWS, micro frontends, APIs, automated testing, and CI/CD. The role sits within the Voltron platform team, which develops shared capabilities that support Cisco Umbrella and Secure Service Edge customer experiences.
The engineer will work on browser applications, reusable frontend libraries, cloud services, and delivery infrastructure. The position is suited to experienced frontend developers who can independently build reliable features while also creating reusable components and integration capabilities for other engineering teams. The work combines modern web development with cloud services, production observability, secure application practices, and continuous delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support features for the DashX shell, React microapps, shared frontend libraries, and related supporting services.
- Build reusable components, documented APIs, configuration options, and upgrade paths that make it easier for partner teams to integrate with the platform.
- Develop frontend capabilities that work effectively with micro frontend or remote-component architectures.
- Use testing results, production telemetry, and customer feedback to improve software quality and engineering decisions.
- Contribute to secure production changes involving authenticated APIs, AWS workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and customer data flows.
- Investigate application defects and operational signals and help improve reliability through better testing, monitoring, and runbooks.
- Work with Git-based source control and established code-review practices.
- Support continuous improvement across development, testing, deployment, and production operations.
Required Skills
Candidates should have at least 4 years of professional software engineering experience, including strong hands-on frontend development experience. The role requires at least 2 years of production experience building web applications with TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
Experience with shared component libraries, micro frontend architectures, remote components, or API client libraries is relevant to the position. Candidates should also understand HTTP APIs and have practical experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms.
The role requires experience with automated testing, including unit, integration, or end-to-end testing, along with practical use of CI/CD pipelines to validate and deliver software changes. Familiarity with Git-based source control and code review workflows is also required.
Cloud experience is important. Candidates should have at least one year of experience with Jenkins and AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, S3, or CloudFront, or with infrastructure as code.
Preferred Skills
Experience in security, SaaS, or multi-tenant product environments can be beneficial. Exposure to Rust, Go, Python, or another comparable programming language is also preferred.
Candidates who use data-backed insights to improve technical decisions and project outcomes may be well suited to the role. The position also values engineers who encourage different perspectives, support the development of teammates, and maintain progress during technical or organizational change.
Education
The supplied job description does not specify a mandatory degree or educational qualification. Applicants should therefore focus on clearly demonstrating the professional software engineering experience and technical skills requested in the posting.
Experience
The position requires 4 to 8 years of professional software engineering experience. Within that background, candidates should have at least 2 years of production web application development using TypeScript, JavaScript, and React. At least one year of experience with Jenkins and specified AWS services or infrastructure as code is also required, along with experience in APIs, authentication, automated testing, CI/CD, and Git-based development.
Required Technologies
The main technologies and engineering practices associated with this role include React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Jenkins, AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon S3, Amazon CloudFront, HTTP APIs, authentication, authorization, CI/CD, Git, automated testing, micro frontends, remote components, shared component libraries, and API client libraries. Infrastructure as code is also identified as a relevant area of experience.
Soft Skills
The role requires independent execution, collaboration, and a practical approach to solving engineering problems. Engineers should be comfortable using technical and production data to make informed decisions, responding constructively to defects and operational challenges, and working with partner development teams.
Communication and teamwork are important because the platform provides capabilities used by other engineering groups. Candidates should be able to document reusable solutions, participate in code reviews, support teammates, and help maintain progress during periods of change.
Benefits of Working in this Role
This role provides an opportunity to work on shared platform technology that supports customer-facing security experiences. Engineers can build broader expertise across React applications, reusable frontend architecture, AWS cloud services, APIs, CI/CD, automated testing, and production observability. Working with platform capabilities also provides exposure to integration patterns and engineering practices that can be reused across multiple applications.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position. The job description specifically identifies the role as Onsite Only.
Location
The position is based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
Who Should Apply
This opportunity is appropriate for experienced frontend or software engineers with 4 to 8 years of professional experience and strong production expertise in React, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Candidates should be comfortable working with modern frontend architecture and should have practical knowledge of APIs, cloud services, testing, CI/CD, and source control.
Applicants with experience in security, SaaS, multi-tenant applications, micro frontend platforms, or AWS-based products may find their background especially relevant. Developers who enjoy building reusable platform capabilities for other engineering teams should also consider this opportunity.
Career Growth
The role can help engineers expand beyond individual frontend features into shared platform engineering, cloud services, delivery automation, production reliability, and reusable architecture. Experience with micro frontends, AWS, APIs, CI/CD, testing, and customer-facing security platforms can strengthen both technical depth and broader software engineering capability.
Application Advice
Tailor your resume to highlight production React, TypeScript, and JavaScript experience. Clearly describe projects involving shared component libraries, micro frontends, remote components, API clients, or reusable frontend platforms where applicable. Include specific AWS services you have used, Jenkins or other CI/CD experience, automated testing approaches, Git workflows, and authentication or authorization work.
If you have worked in security, SaaS, or multi-tenant environments, make that experience visible. Also mention Rust, Go, Python, infrastructure as code, production telemetry, or data-driven engineering decisions when these accurately represent your background.
