CGI Hiring Senior Azure Data Engineer | Bangalore & Chennai

Job Overview CGI is looking for a Senior Azure Data Engineer to join its engineering team in Bangalore or Chennai. This full-time onsite role is designed for experienced data engineering professionals with 5 to 8 years of experience building enterprise-grade data platforms on Microsoft Azure. The position focuses on designing scalable data pipelines, developing high-performance Spark workloads, implementing modern data lake architectures, and supporting cloud-based analytics solutions. You will work closely with architects, analysts, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and secure data platforms. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining data pipelines, developing PySpark and Spark SQL workloads in Azure Databricks, implementing Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 using Medallion Architecture, performing data modeling, optimizing SQL queries, monitoring performance, automating deployments using CI/CD, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform and Bicep, implementing governance, security, encryption, access controls, and mentoring junior engineers. Required expertise includes Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory or Apache Airflow, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Python, Pandas, APIs, unit testing, PySpark, Spark SQL, Catalyst Optimizer, SQL, Git, data modeling, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise data engineering. Additional exposure to Delta Lake, Azure Stream Analytics, Spark Streaming, Synapse Analytics, Event Hubs, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Microsoft Purview, Power BI, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and DataOps is beneficial. Strong communication, analytical thinking, collaboration, documentation, troubleshooting, mentoring, and problem-solving skills are essential. Work mode is onsite with five days per week from the office.
