Job Overview

Microsoft is hiring a Senior Consultant – Full Stack AI Application Developer in Hyderabad, Telangana. This is a full-time consulting opportunity within Microsoft Industry Solutions – Global Center for Innovation and Delivery. The role is designed for an experienced technology professional who can combine full-stack software engineering, cloud architecture, applied AI, and customer-focused consulting.

The position involves working on complex, enterprise-scale engagements where the engineer contributes across the solution lifecycle. The successful candidate will help customers adopt Microsoft technologies, translate business needs into practical technical solutions, and deliver secure, scalable, cloud-native and AI-enabled applications. The role requires both hands-on engineering ability and strong delivery leadership across architecture, development, deployment, testing, risk management, and customer collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery for complex cloud-native and AI-enabled customer engagements.
• Define technology strategies for large solutions and align architectures with business objectives and Microsoft reference architectures.
• Design, develop, and deploy applications and services on Microsoft Azure.
• Translate customer requirements into clear technical designs using iterative prototyping and user-centered design practices.
• Establish technical priorities, estimate work, manage dependencies, and guide successful releases.
• Maintain accountability for solution performance, security, compliance, quality, and operational effectiveness.
• Identify technical risks, plan mitigation approaches, and manage escalations across customer engagements.
• Work with sales, account teams, architects, and engineering groups to communicate the value of Microsoft cloud and AI solutions.
• Support digital transformation by reusing intellectual property, engineering assets, and proven delivery practices.
• Lead customer and partner meetings to understand business needs and map them to Microsoft technology solutions.
• Prepare project planning materials, work breakdown structures, technical documentation, and risk information.
• Provide technical oversight across workstreams and coordinate resources when issues require escalation.
• Build and maintain executive-level customer relationships and contribute to customer satisfaction and recovery activities.
• Mentor consultants and engineers, participate in technical communities, and share knowledge through training and thought leadership.
• Support operational readiness, compliance, and Microsoft delivery processes.

Required Skills

The role requires strong full-stack engineering experience across application, API, service, domain, data, and integration layers. Candidates should be comfortable designing and delivering enterprise applications using .NET and C#, .NET Web APIs, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend technologies such as Angular or React.

Strong knowledge of software architecture is important. The role calls for experience with patterns and approaches such as MVC, CQRS, and Saga, along with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, performance, scalability, and resiliency.

Candidates should also have hands-on cloud experience, particularly with Microsoft Azure or another public cloud. Experience with microservices, serverless architectures, Kubernetes, Azure Functions, Service Fabric, CI/CD, automated testing, release strategies, monitoring, telemetry, and production readiness is highly relevant.

AI engineering is another major part of the position. Candidates should understand generative AI application development, RAG patterns, vector search, prompt engineering, evaluation, agent orchestration, and responsible AI practices.

Preferred Skills

Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Cognitive Search, Vector Search, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation is preferred. Experience with Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor is also valuable.

Candidates with experience using Python for RAG pipelines, vector workflows, agent orchestration, and AI evaluation frameworks will be well aligned with the role.

Security knowledge is important, including security-by-design, encryption, authentication and authorization, Zero Trust architecture, IAM, threat modeling, DevSecOps, least-privilege access, micro-segmentation, SAST, DAST, and secure CI/CD practices.

Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool, Azure Sentinel, or Splunk is useful. Exposure to Azure, AWS, and GCP, as well as digital transformation, cloud migration, hybrid modernization, and industry solutions, is also preferred.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field is required. Advanced or higher-education qualifications are considered a plus. Microsoft and cloud technology certifications are preferred, including AZ-204, AI-102, MCSD, MCSE, or equivalent modern cloud and AI certifications.

Experience

The job requires 10+ years of overall professional experience in software engineering, application development, and solution delivery, with a strong focus on enterprise-scale customer-facing engagements. It also requires 5+ years of customer-facing delivery leadership experience.
