Role Overview

Job Overview

Kyndryl is hiring a Disaster Recovery Consultant for a full-time opportunity in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The role is designed for a professional who can help enterprise customers plan, test, document, and improve disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities across complex IT environments.

The position involves working across application, infrastructure, security, and business teams to understand how critical systems depend on servers, storage, operating systems, databases, virtualization, networks, firewalls, and cloud platforms. A major focus is making recovery processes practical, repeatable, measurable, and well documented.

The consultant will also contribute to disaster recovery automation, recovery exercises, incident analysis, compliance activities, and customer-facing engagements. The role requires a combination of technical understanding, structured planning, documentation ability, stakeholder coordination, and the confidence to present recovery strategies and findings to senior customer representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse enterprise application architectures and identify dependencies across applications and supporting infrastructure in production and disaster recovery environments.
  • Understand recovery workflows and identify opportunities to automate repetitive disaster recovery activities and improve recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives.
  • Coordinate with application, storage, server, operating system, database, virtualization, network, firewall, information security, and cloud teams.
  • Work with customer disaster recovery stakeholders to prepare, maintain, and update enterprise IT disaster recovery plans.
  • Plan mock exercises, tabletop exercises, and live disaster recovery drills with technology and business teams.
  • Maintain recovery runbooks and technical procedures for enterprise applications.
  • Support security and compliance requirements for disaster recovery environments and processes.
  • Participate in planning sessions, execution meetings, and recovery-related governance activities.
  • Maintain disaster recovery drill calendars and communicate schedules to relevant stakeholders.
  • Orchestrate recovery exercises, track execution, and prepare reports covering results and identified gaps.
  • Investigate disaster recovery incidents, perform root-cause analysis where required, and ensure relevant documentation is updated.
  • Track drill success ratios and ensure exercise plans and execution reports are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Create operational technical assets such as DR plans, exercise plans, execution reports, and Technical Recovery Guides.
  • Continue developing expertise in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity practices through internal and external learning.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor during customer discussions, demonstrations, and executive briefings.
  • Present recovery approaches, findings, and recommendations to senior customer stakeholders when required.

Required Skills

Candidates should understand enterprise disaster recovery and business continuity processes and be able to translate complex technical dependencies into clear recovery procedures. The role requires the ability to document recovery steps at an appropriate level of detail while identifying ways to make recovery processes more efficient.

Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure architecture is important, including storage, servers, virtualization, databases, networking, and firewalls. Candidates should be comfortable mapping dependencies between applications and understanding how infrastructure components affect recovery.

Experience with DR automation platforms such as KRO, KIRS, Ansible DR automation, or similar platforms is relevant. Candidates should also understand enterprise incident, problem, and change management processes.

Knowledge of data protection is required, including backup and recovery, storage replication, native database replication, file replication, and other recovery mechanisms used by enterprise applications. Experience should cover on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

The role also calls for practical exposure to UNIX and Windows platforms, including standalone and clustered environments, together with virtualization technologies.
