Job Overview KPIT is seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator L2/L3 to join its Pune team. This full-time onsite role is designed for professionals with 5 to 8 years of experience managing enterprise Linux environments. The position focuses on administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux systems while ensuring high availability, security, performance, and operational reliability. The selected candidate will troubleshoot complex production issues, automate administrative tasks, manage virtualization platforms, monitor infrastructure health, and contribute to infrastructure modernization projects. Key Responsibilities - Administer and maintain Linux servers. - Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and optimize operating systems. - Troubleshoot complex Linux issues and perform root cause analysis. - Develop automation scripts using Bash and Python. - Manage VMware and Proxmox virtualization environments. - Implement configuration management using Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. - Monitor infrastructure with Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, and ELK Stack. - Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning. - Maintain Linux security, firewall, and vulnerability management practices. - Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams. Required Skills Strong Linux administration, virtualization, automation, scripting, monitoring, networking fundamentals, and security knowledge. Preferred Skills RHCE certification and experience with enterprise configuration management platforms. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Experience 5 to 8 years of Linux system administration experience.
