Eaton is hiring an Associate Engineer for its Research & Development Engineering function in Hadapsar, Pune. The role is part of the Aerospace hiring program and follows a hybrid work arrangement. The position supports engineering and product design activities for Conveyance products.

The Associate Engineer will execute engineering assignments with guidance from senior engineers, team leaders, or engineering managers. The role involves mechanical system design, engineering documentation, testing, CAD-based design, product development, and adherence to design standards and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute projects, assignments, and engineering tasks assigned by the team leader or engineering manager.
• Create and revise engineering documentation, including detail drawings, 3D models, bills of material, and component specifications, to support product design, development, and manufacturing.
• Perform engineering activities related to product design, testing, and preparation of specifications under appropriate guidance.
• Own or contribute to a specific design module within a larger mechanical system and develop design concepts for assigned components.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments while supporting engineering activities.
• Follow design standards and procedures covering product design methods, drawings, documentation, and data control.
• Support the deployment of ACES and other relevant standards and follow Eaton product launch processes.
• Build expertise across multiple CAD tools and provide CAD support using specified software, data exchange systems, and document control processes.
• Prepare fully parametric component designs using design methodology, DFM and DFA fundamentals, and drafting standards.
• Perform initial quality checks to confirm that drawings and design concepts meet applicable Eaton and customer requirements.
• Develop design concepts and quick block models and recommend technical changes or modifications when required.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up techniques to detailed component designs.
• Use DFSS concepts and tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management, and DVPR for new product development or product improvements.

Education

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required for this position.

Experience

The role requires 0 to 1.5 years of engineering or product design experience in a relevant domain.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in one or more CAD tools, with CATIA preferred.
• Experience with a PLM tool is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to execute projects effectively.
• Root Cause Analysis skills.
