Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Data Center Technician for its Data Center Operations team in Maharashtra. The role supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment that keeps AWS data center infrastructure operating reliably.

Data Center Operations works with large-scale computing infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and the systems that support them. Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot technical problems involving servers, storage systems, and networking devices, including advanced hardware issues.
• Install and configure data center servers and network systems.
• Install, diagnose, and replace internal and external hardware components in servers and network devices.
• Help maintain system reliability and availability through timely issue resolution and ongoing equipment support.
• Work in a ticket-based environment and follow systematic processes to investigate and resolve problems.
• Handle parts-related activities, support data center maintenance, and contribute to operational work involving infrastructure systems.
• Participate in projects intended to improve operational efficiency and the data center work environment.
• Share technical knowledge with colleagues and help train staff who are less familiar with service-owner practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams and contribute ideas, operational experience, and improvements.
• Take part in the hiring process, including candidate interviews, as appropriate.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware.
• Ability to investigate technical issues and work toward a systematic resolution.
• Willingness to work onsite in a physically active role and support a rotational shift schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfort working in confined spaces or at elevated locations while following health and safety guidelines.
• Experience communicating with customers during problem resolution and remaining effective under pressure.
• Experience organizing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Familiarity with cabling infrastructure practices and methods.
• Experience in a data center environment, including racking and stacking equipment, cable management, and hot/cold aisle containment.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is an onsite and physically active position. Daily work involves moving around the data center and handling installation, troubleshooting, and equipment replacement tasks. The role follows a rotational, shift-based schedule to support system reliability around the clock.

Technicians are expected to follow applicable health and safety guidelines, including when working in cramped areas or elevated locations. Work is coordinated with internal teams and managed through tickets and systematic problem-resolution practices.
