Key Responsibilities
- Build full-stack product capabilities using modern frontend technologies and backend services.
- Develop user interfaces such as job consoles, dashboards, and monitoring experiences using React, TypeScript, or comparable technologies.
- Build backend services using Node.js, Java, or similar technologies.
- Design, implement, and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs for document generation, asset and template management, job submission, and result retrieval.
- Develop API capabilities involving authentication, authorization, entitlements, usage metering, rate limiting, and version management.
- Work with InDesign Server capabilities and scripting technologies to support automated document rendering, pagination, and content mapping.
- Design asynchronous workflows for long-running rendering operations, including queues, polling, retries, partial failure handling, and progress reporting.
- Improve platform reliability, performance, scalability, and observability across high-volume document generation workloads.
- Take ownership of features from architecture and development through testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
- Work with Product, Design, and Platform teams to translate enterprise requirements into dependable technical solutions.
- Support the migration of existing InDesign Server users and partners toward API-based capabilities by addressing product functionality and performance requirements.
- Promote engineering quality through testing, code reviews, CI/CD practices, and sensible technical debt management.
- Mentor junior engineers through design discussions, pairing, code reviews, and technical guidance.
Required Skills
Candidates should have strong full-stack software engineering experience with end-to-end ownership of production applications. Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills are required, together with experience in at least one backend runtime or language such as Node.js or Java.
