Job Overview
Salesforce is hiring for a Software Engineering PMTS position in Hyderabad, India. The role is focused on leading the Monitoring Cloud Events team and building software and services that support large-scale cloud operations. The position combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, service ownership, and mentoring.
The team works with very large volumes of cloud and telemetry data. The role involves building and maintaining an observability stack, operating data pipelines, using big data technologies, monitoring system health, and helping ensure that services remain reliable and available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Monitoring Cloud Events team while contributing to software engineering and service development.
- Build and maintain an observability stack using in-house, open-source, and cloud-managed services.
- Design and operate ETL data pipelines and work with large-scale data and big data tools.
- Monitor system health, identify operational issues, and help resolve problems quickly to maintain service availability.
- Own services from development through ongoing operation and reliability.
- Guide and mentor other engineers, supporting their technical growth and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with partners and customers across different regions to understand requirements and solve technical problems.
- Contribute to improving the speed, safety, scalability, and usability of cloud systems operating at global scale.
Required Skills
- Deep experience in software engineering and engineering team leadership.
- Strong ability to work with very large volumes of data, including moving and storing data at scale.
- Strong hands-on experience building ETL data pipelines.
- Practical experience with open-source technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Apache Druid.
- Ability to mentor and support other engineers in a collaborative environment.
- A strong service ownership mindset, with a focus on keeping systems reliable and operational.

- AWS and Google Cloud Platform for multi-cloud infrastructure and compute.
- Kubernetes, including EKS and GKE, for scalable orchestration.
- Terraform for infrastructure as code and automated platform provisioning.
- OpenTelemetry for standardized instrumentation and telemetry collection.
- Apache Kafka for durable and decoupled telemetry event ingestion.
- Apache Flink for real-time stream processing, log parsing, aggregations, and anomaly detection.
- Java, Go, and Python for stream-processing applications, operators, and tooling.
- ClickHouse for columnar event storage and large-scale analytics workloads.
- Amazon S3 and Google Cloud Storage for cost-effective cold storage.
- Prometheus and related time-series technologies for high-cardinality metric ingestion and compression.
- Grafana for visualization and monitoring dashboards.
- Apache Druid, Vector, Fluent Bit, VictoriaMetrics, M3DB, Apache Superset, and Prometheus Alertmanager are also part of the described environment.
Leadership and Collaboration
This role requires both technical depth and engineering leadership. The successful candidate will guide engineers, share knowledge through mentoring, and collaborate with partners and customers across countries and time zones.
