Job Overview

Infineon Technologies is hiring a Junior Software Developer on a temporary contract basis in Bangalore. This onsite role is designed for recent graduates or candidates with 1–2 years of experience who want to build practical skills in cross-platform software development, CI/CD automation, and developer experience.

In this role, you will help modernize an internal engineering toolchain so that it works reliably across Linux, Windows with WSL2, and high-performance computing environments. You will work with senior software architects and system engineers while contributing to production-grade infrastructure used by engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend code and command-line interfaces using Python and C++.
• Refactor legacy scripts so they work across Windows with WSL2 and Linux by replacing hardcoded operating-system dependencies with dynamic environment variables.
• Work with JSON, XML, and YAML data formats to support interoperability between simulation tools.
• Create automated validation scripts, including linters, for Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve developer experience by handling software exceptions and providing clear error messages and practical fix hints.
• Write unit tests and support automated stress testing to verify software package installation and performance under different conditions.

Required Skills

• Strong foundational programming skills in Python and/or C++.
• Comfort working with Linux and Windows command-line environments.
• Familiarity with Git and a basic understanding of CI/CD concepts.
• Basic knowledge of configuration files and data structures using YAML and JSON.
• Strong problem-solving ability, eagerness to learn, and an interest in creating tools that improve developer productivity.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).
• Basic knowledge of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, SystemC, or hardware simulation workflows.
• Experience writing Bash scripts or working with build automation tools.

Education

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
